Located in Chengdong New Town, Anji County, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, Town of Angel - Yanxi Lake is only 4 kilometers away from downtown of Anji. Surrounded by mountains, the site boasts a superb natural environment. Adjacent to the Yushanwu Reservoir to the east and the core area of Town of Angel in the west, it is a small town community that integrates tourism, leisure, entertainment, health care and education.

In the overall planning and design, the architectural designer, with full consideration of the relationship between the terrains and the architectural form of the original village, makes full use of the height difference of the terrains to enable a perfect combination of architecture and terrains through the platform-typed layout. While emphasizing a sense of enclosure and belonging in the courtyard clusters, the architectural designer strives to create streets and lanes of suitable scales to strengthen neighborhood relationships.

Besides, this case features landscape resource as the starting point of the architectural design. To retain the original valuable trees at the site as much as possible, the architectural designer incorporates them into the public landscape and the inner courtyards. By making best use of surrounding scenic resources, the architectural designer sees to it that views are not blocked by buildings of different heights and that tenants can enjoy the scenery in the distance from within the courtyard. In terms of the flat layout design, interactions between indoor and outdoor spaces are enhanced to create a people-oriented environment. Based on functions, outdoor spaces are expanded. In particular, the southern landscaping belt along the riverside and the mountain landscape park on the east side of the reservoir dam are taken into consideration to reinforce interaction of indoor and outdoor functions and scenes. In this way, an ideal place for living is created.

As for the facade design, the architectural designer draws inspiration from the extensive and natural style of traditional residences in regions south of the Yangtze river to ensure that the construction size, shape and color scheme look harmonious, unostentatious and exquisite. Through a combination of traditional shape and modern craftsmanship, white walls, black tiles and protruding upturned eaves on roof corners echo with clouds lingering over distant mountain tops to create a mesmerizing picture indicative of the oriental Zen and perfectly blending into the background of blue skies.
