The Apex is situated at the core of Guangzhou's Pazhou New Central Axis. Based on the existing site constraints, goa delved into Guangzhou's millennia-old mercantile and maritime culture, proposing the "Tower of Cloud-like Sails" as the core concept to imbue the architecture with a distinct regional identity. The design team drew inspiration from elements like cloud-sails, masts, and ship hulls. Through precise sculpting and integration of the tower's fundamental form, they crafted a dynamic, full-sail silhouette. This is accentuated by fluid, layered horizontal lines that enhance the sense of movement. For non-standard sections like refuge floors and the crown, the same design language is extended and refined, resulting in a soaring and elegant architectural form that echoes the central theme.

The podium features a "Garden Along the Hull Line," resembling a light oasis. Sky gardens and terraced landscapes, nestled within lush greenery, create an artistic and immersive urban forest experience. The façade innovatively employs glazed double-curved ceramic panels, overcoming the technical challenges of complex curved surface construction. Their layered texture serves as a contemporary architectural interpretation of the Pearl River's thousand-year shipping heritage, embodying the city's vitality as it extends vertically.
