Sunac Nanjing Tao Hua Yuan is located in the Pearl Spring Scenic Area, Pukou District of Nanjing City. Fronting the waves of the Foshou Lake and backed by the Laoshan Mountains. The project is granted with unique geographical features in the beautiful environment. The project is higher in the middle and lower on both sides, surrounded by lakes on three sides and rich in landscape resources. Therefore, the planning starts with the landscape resources and creates an authentic Chinese courtyard-style residential community with the integration, refinement, utilization and innovation of the landscape. 

Overall, white wall and black tiles are used to form the traditional Chinese buildings. To highlight its cultural characteristics, the entrance and exit and the public visual interface adopt the elements of high-profile Chinese classical architecture, such as the elegant gable-and-hip roof and the hip angle, in combination with the elements of solemn dwellings in northern China. Meanwhile, the public garden and the courtyard inside the building adopt the style of Jiangnan dwellings and Suzhou gardens. The Building facade highlights the comparison of building size and the harmonious proportions to create a simple and elegant living environment with sincerity.

The design has extracted, improved and reorganized the classical elements of residential buildings, gardens and landscapes to meet the comfort requirements of modern life. In the scheme design, the traditional practices of white walls and hard mountains of residential buildings are improved. The wall color is warm grayish white, which is embellished with greyish blue bricks, and the wood veneer is darker than that of traditional houses. The existing tall trees are kept as much as possible to hide the buildings. A peaceful utopia is thus created in the aura about the Foshou Lake.   

The mansion and the garden are two major elements of the classical Chinese garden. The mansion that emphasizes symmetry and layers has enhanced the well-ordered space with a touch of ceremonial way of life. The garden features the local conditions and arranges fine twists and turns. Through the combination of pavilions, terraces, corridors, pavilions and various landscapes, the garden provides a poetic world to meet the host’s spiritual pursuits.
