Located in the core area of Xiangcheng District, Suzhou Villa in Wujiang is a key node in the northern extension of the central city of Suzhou. With excellent landscape and great development potential, the project aims to build a high-end urban villa community that contains Xiangcheng’s history and humanistic temperament and embodies the quality of fashionable life.

The overall planning respects the terrain and environment. The main road running lengthwise separates the river belt and the central area. Large houses are arranged along the waterscape, and their overall internal layouts follow the traditional pattern. The group distribution retains the characteristics of traditional Chinese urban blocks, namely overall continuation and crisscrossed communities. The designer draws on the essence of traditional courtyard culture and effectively divides the land into each household in the form of a courtyard, enclosing the secluded space of a private courtyard.

The courtyards of various sizes enclosed by buildings and courtyard walls, as well as the terraces on the second floor, bring rich living experience. The villa façade not only reflects the characteristics of Chinese architecture with the design method of virtual-real contrast, but also retains the typical elements of traditional Chinese architecture such as eaves, solid walls and courtyards. In addition, the materials of modern architecture highlight the construction technique of details in simplicity. The project takes the Suzhou classical garden as the prototype and absorbs the concept of modern residence, which can be described as the harmonious unity of tradition and modernity. The designer chooses the façade materials carefully, with full consideration to the sense of quality of modern Chinese style mansions, mellow cultural accumulation, and durability.
