"High mountains and lofty hills present a refreshing sight; fog drops moisten the clothes." Guangxiao Visits Tanzhe Temple by Yao Guangxiao of the Ming Dynasty .
Located in the east of Tanzhesi Town, Mentougou District, Beijing, the project is at the foot of Tanzhe Mountain in the suburbs of Beijing. The town is named after Tanzhe Temple, a famous Buddhist temple in Beijing. As the old saying goes in Beijing, "Tanzhe comes first before Youzhou." The place enjoys convenient transportation, abundant natural resources and profound cultural accumulation.
The site is low in the west and high in the east, long in the north-south direction and narrow in the east-west direction. A gully in the middle divides the site into the southern and northern areas, shaped like a bean pod as a whole. The slope ranges from 15% to 25%. The difference between the highest and lowest points of the original elevation is about 35 meters.
To create a dwelling environment in line with site conditions, highlight the spatial richness of mountainous buildings and realize the harmony of natural landscape and artificial creation, we have proposed the design concept of "mountain view" and "mountain residence" based on site characteristics and current mountain resources. Through the gradation of terraces and the construction based on the original terrain, the buildings are staggered in height, so that the landscape views of residents will not be blocked by the buildings before them. Meanwhile, the product location and the site value are combined according to the house grade so as to enhance the premium capacity of products and allow all households to enjoy a mountain view.
In terms of facade design, the project adopts the principal of "imitating ancient charm and presenting modern ideas based on the shape of mountains". The exterior walls are decorated with light beige limestone and dark aluminium plates, supplemented with aluminium alloy thermal insulation windows. The metal pitched roof is adopted to highlight horizontal lines on multiple levels, which matches the buildings raised layer upon layer and echoes the overall planning pattern and terrain.
