Located in Shiliang Town of Tiantai County, the Lotus Town project is situated on a flat and open stretch at the summit of the Tiantai Mountain, with a maximum altitude of about 785 m. It is cool and pleasant in the summer and is covered by snow and ice in the winter, which is an ideal vacation resort. Enjoying superior geographical location and beautiful natural landscape, it is envisioned to create a simple and tranquil living environment in the mountain by introducing the profound cultural deposits of the Tiantai Mountain (the origin of the Buddhist Tiantai Sect) into its design.

Utilizing terrain characteristics, its hotel and residence planning takes the main roads on site as boundaries, and divides the site into south slope and north slope. The Phase I residences are located on the south slope, and designed under the conception of a village in the mountain. The residences adopt a cluster layout, with clearly-defined spatial levels of streets, lanes, courtyards and houses. Living in the mountain, you can care-freely enjoy beautiful views of the southern mountainside, immersed in its poetic ambiance. The Phase II town center consists of hotel and commerce. The hotel is located on the north slope, occupying the terrace at the top of the mountain. The architecture follows the stratified layout of the mountain to give a solemn and imposing presence. Looking northwest from the hotel lobby, you can see the quiet and deep valley and lush forest. The commercial area facing the south is divided into left and right blocks, interspersed with galleries, street lanes and courtyards and squares in a pleasant scale.

Located on the terrace at the top of the mountain, the town center is designed with three main plazas and two main street lanes which forms its internal texture framework. Its design draws on natural village forms to create richly varied space of street lane. The internal spatial design of the town center takes into account its commercial operations, with the vision of creating a living space integrating interiors and exteriors, while its external facilities of the town center merge with the topographical features to create a sightseeing platform. From a distance, the architectural cluster seems like it has grown naturally out of the mountainside, containing within it the warmth and appeal of village life.
