Considering that the east side of Shan-Shui Yue Lan Ting adjacent to Suzhou Lion Mountain Park, the architects hope to maximally incorporate the scenery of the Lion Mountain and ensure a perfect fusion in terms of style. Based on the terrain and the landscape of the mountain, the construction is laid out in descending height from west to east, and from north to south, and a landscape passage is created to connect the city with the mountain. In designing the construction shape and details, the architects strive to integrate modern techniques and classical aesthetics into the construction style. Streets and lanes are carefully laid out in proper scales to be reminiscent of traditional ancient constructions, and modern materials are well chosen to echo with the classical color scheme of white walls and black tiles in ancient times.

The architects adopt the classical Suzhou garden design approach in the construction of key public spaces, splitting and reorganizing large-sized buildings to enclose different garden spaces that people can explore to experience varied levels of fun, ingeniousness, and exquisiteness. After walking along streets and lanes and through courtyard spaces, people will eventually reach the main public area featuring a water scene, greeted by the delightful surprise of the Lion Mountain as the center of focus. 

By creating scenic spaces and incorporating external landscape, the architects manage to weave natural sceneries into daily life, “enabling people to enjoy the pleasure of mountains and woods without going out of the city and the joy of forest springs while surrounded by the urban hustles and bustles.”
