Located at the intersection of Jiuhua Road and Jiufu Road, Jiubao new district of Hangzhou, the Graceful World is close to the Central Station and Jiubao Station of subway Line 1 with convenient transportation. The site is in the shape of a square with a deflection of over 30 degrees towards the south-west direction. The building height limit is 45m and the FSR is 2.2. The total residential building area is about 100,000m2 and 10-15-storeyed mid-high-rise apartment buildings are the logical choice.

In the overall planning, we choose an enclosed layout to combine towers and slabs together to achieve relatively high density. A diamond-shaped space is created by L-shaped slab-type buildings and some towers. A rectangular space is formed by some slab-type buildings and commercial buildings along the street. All the residential buildings along the street are either parallel with or perpendicular to the major city roads. All the inner residential buildings are angled in 45° to get maximum south exposure and also to generate various interesting courtyards. Four different-sized community clusters with quiet inner courtyards are formed by groups of buildings and between them are semi-public spaces. These four interpenetrating clusters are the center of the whole community.

The architectural design of the Graceful World is inspired by the Modern Urban Apartments in Paris from which we absorb the spirit in massing, color, details and materials. Exquisite decoration and delicate moldings provide the buildings with elegant characters. Beige granite cladding is used on the façade, accompanied with aluminum window frame. The overall color scheme is delicate and elegant.
