本项目地块为上海市虹口区风貌保护街坊,但在设计开端之时,场地内既有建筑已经拆除。面对这一特殊背景,设计没有采用简单复原地块上已拆除建筑或完整复刻某个现存街坊的做法,而是希望通过“建筑模式语言”的归纳和演绎,延续石库门里弄这一建筑类型的内涵与特色,实现 “传统石库门语境下的新时代里弄”。
设计辩证性地继承地块的原始肌理特征:维持风车状的整体格局;延续原街区的连续沿街界面;化用原有房屋的拼接组合逻辑。在此基础上,设计于空间尺度、立面形制等各个层面化用传统石库门建筑的“模式语言”:沿街立面以连续山墙面表达韵律感;分层次采用石库门建筑的经典门头形制及开窗形制;沿用红砖嵌灰砖、米色石材线脚、铁艺栏杆、砖石栏杆等细部样式。沿街高层住宅及公寓采用了古典建筑常用的三段式立面,立面整体经语言的简化与抽象传递出新旧交融的气质,连续的拱形塑造出底层商铺的优雅形象。
在满足风貌保护要求的同时,设计从古典审美意趣出发,运用现代建筑材料和技术延续与发展传统建筑形式,塑造了一片适应当代生活需求且具有上海特色的新时代里弄街区。
The project's site is a historically preserved neighborhood in Shanghai's Hongkou District. However, the existing buildings within the area had been demolished when the design process began. In response, the design does not merely aim to reconstruct the demolished structures or replicate the previous neighborhood. Instead, it categorizes and scrutinizes the local "pattern language" to uphold the essence of Shikumen-style architecture, offering a revitalized interpretation of the vernacular context.
Strategically, the design original site texture by reviving the original pinwheel-shaped master plan structure, reinstating continuous street interfaces, and adapting the previous architectural composition. It incorporates traditional Shikumen architectural "pattern language" into multiple facets based on the restored fabric, including spatial scale and exterior details. The rhythmic street front is artfully expressed through undulating gable walls, while the iconic Shikumen-style gates and windows enhance the spatial depth and intricacy. Details such as red masonry with gray brick inlays, beige stone molding, iron-crafted railings, and solid brick and stone railings are meticulously retained. For the high-rise residential buildings along the streets, the design abstracts and simplifies the classical tripartite division facade, synthesizing the old and new elements. In the commercial area, an elegant and inviting interface is established by incorporating continuous arches at the ground level.
Beyond exceeding conservation standards, the design fuses classical aesthetics with contemporary materials and techniques in a rejuvenated Shikumen-style neighborhood. This creative approach not only accommodates the demands of modern living but also embraces Shanghai's fashionable identity.
