The project is located in Lingang Industrial Park, Fengxian District, Shanghai, and is expected to be the major service hub for the industrial park and its surrounding residential communities.
The overall planning concept of the project is to build an independent and inviting park in the city with reef-shaped building blocks. The buildings are built around the perimeter of the site to form an enclosure, with the commercial pedestrian street extending outward to connect with the rest of the city and invite guests. The main hotel tower buildings are located along one side of the main access, looking impressive and powerful and known as the landmark of Shanghai Lingang Blue Bay World. A number of small-sized commercial podium on the east side, together with the main building, encircle a central plaza and several shopping street, providing visitors an interesting diversity of spaces for walking experiences.
The shape of the building cluster is inspired by the image of seaside rocks and stones. With varying heights and intervals, the buildings are highly reminiscent of an integral combination of reefs and rocks. The white lines on the façade remind people of the shiny waves bathed in the sun, and add more vigor and dynamics to the construction. In addition to meeting requirements about functionality, the project is highly expressive, thus helping to improve the new image of Lingang Industrial Park and symbolizing the appealing marine culture there.
The project consists of supporting amenities such as Grand Mercure, medium-sized supermarkets, fitness clubs and cinemas, service facilities such as restaurants, retail stores, training centers and early education, and nonprofit functional facilities such as a community canteen and a community culture center. In the future, it will help to ensure more convenient living conditions for people in Lingang Industrial Park.
