The Shanghai Changfeng Center is situated between the middle and inner ring of Putuo District, adjacent to Changfeng Park. It was born out of a vision to enhance this well-established region. This comprehensive mixed-use development consists of three phases, including programs such as commercial, Grade-A office, headquarters office, and apartments.

By urban regulatory plans, the irregular site is traversed by a green belt incorporated into the design as a green core and primary pedestrian axis connecting the three clusters. From the public green belt to individual courtyards and residential green spaces to commercial plazas, a cohesive public space system promotes the integrity of the entire block.

The central green belt, approximately 30m wide, is expanded into a 110m x 90m garden to the north. A smooth transition is introduced between the constructed elements and the natural beauty by dividing the podium surrounding the garden into smaller volumes using cutting, pixelating, and setback techniques. The headquarters office adopts a grid pattern comprising 10 four-story point structures with rooftop terraces. This matrix surrounds a serene rectangular garden, seamlessly merging the architectural cluster and landscape.

The commercial cluster covers an area of approximately 40,000㎡, catering primarily to the block's office workers and nearby residents. In contrast to enclosed shopping malls, the project features an open street layout that connects seamlessly to the surrounding community and offers a variety of leisure options for office workers. The circulation revolves around the "activity plaza - meandering pedestrian street" levels. The entire commercial block is open 24 hours a day, functioning as an extension of the urban streets.
