引力场2.0 - 城市泡泡

在高楼林立繁华喧嚣的上海市中心，进入一个全透明的巨型泡泡内，会是一种什么样的空间体验。9月23日-10月15日期间,在上海繁华的南京西路中信泰富广场，举行了一系列主题为“引力场2.0—建筑艺术与公共文化的多场耦合”的城市公共艺术活动。而一件具有实验性的建筑空间装置作品——《城市泡泡》也由此而生。

一大一小，一透一白，两个巨型泡泡轻盈地落在不规则形的广场地面上。其柔软的外形与折角方正的建筑形成鲜明的对比，而全透明的体量让不大的广场并不显得过分局促。路过的人们在好奇之余，不禁回想起各自的童年记忆，忍不住伸手摸一下弹性十足的城市泡泡。

1毫米厚的透明TPU材质（热塑性聚氨酯弹性体）柔软而耐磨，可再生利用。通过热胶粘合的方式，形成7米宽，14米长，6米高的巨型露珠状透明空间体量，而小泡泡仅为其一半大小。广场石材地面不允许有固定螺栓，为了抵抗风荷载，2吨水被分别放置在40个方形灯座中，作为泡泡底部的“压舱物”，它们同时也是夜间照明和座椅。作为气压膜结构空间，泡泡利用气泵维持其饱满的状态。人的进出会影响其室内气压变化，而入口隔离仓的设计可以尽量减小气压差影响。此外，泡泡还具有很好的可移动性，可以在不同场地被多次利用。

空间全封闭，而视觉全开放，城市泡泡仿佛广场上的一个透明舞台。21天时间里，乐队演出，街舞表演，互动行为艺术，VR体验营…丰富的城市公共活动在透明的泡泡里发生和呈现。《城市泡泡》俨然成为了一个城市公共生活的透明容器。这里既是实验场，也是剧场，展场，市场，游乐场。城市泡泡激发着城市活力和创造力，并以空间的方式展现出开放的城市精神。

One large and transparent, another small and white, the two light bubbles float on the free-shaped square. Their soft appearance of bubbles creates a striking contrast with the sharp, square building behind them. And the transparent material won’t make the square look cramped. Besides curiosity, passers-by will also recall their childishness, so that they can’t help to touch the cute “City Bubble”.

The bubbles are made up with 1-millimeter-thick transparent TPU (Thermoplastic Urethane), which is soft, wear-resistant and renewable. The bigger bubble provides a drop-shaped transparent space, which is 7 meters wide, 14 meters long, 6 meters high. The smaller one is half-sized, all stuck with hot-melt adhesive. Knocking a nail in the stone ground of the square is not allowed, so we placed in the bubble 40 square plastic boxes filled with 2 tons of water, in order to resist wind load. The boxes can also be the light source and seats. The bubble has a pneumatic membrane structure, using air pump to maintain full. The air pressure is unstable, which changes when people get in and out. So the design of “bulkhead” in entrance can reduce the pressure effect. In addition, the bubble is easily movable, it can be used in different places for many times.

The space completely closed while the visual all open, the bubble looks like a transparent stage on the square. During the 21 days, there were band performances, hip-hop dance performances, interactive performance art, VR experience camp and so on. So many public activities occurred in the transparent bubbles. "City Bubble" has become a container of the public activities in this city. It can be defined as an experimental field, also a theater, an exhibition hall, a market, or even a playroom. “City Bubble” stimulates the energy and creativity of the city, and shows the liberal city spirit in architectural way.
