Hangzhou East Railway Station is one of Asia's largest railway hubs and a crucial node within China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway system. Situated at a pivotal intersection along the east axis of this transit hub, Garden International office park is within a 1km walking distance from the railway station. Its design objective is to create a vibrant core that connects urban vitality dots and facilitates regional business formats. The office park comprises three garden-style office buildings, a star-rated hotel, and a commercial block. This functional integration contributes to developing a distinct "closed-loop system of commercial and business."

A 37° angle exists between the site and the north-south axis, and the buildings are arranged along the city roads to optimize floor-area and built-to-line ratios. Through a "twist" gesture, the design imparts a bending form to the rectangular volumes. Four curved lines create an inclusive yet unobstructed "pinwheel" layout, where the buildings embrace and echo each other while maintaining independence. The winding spaces between the buildings resemble a "natural canyon." Beyond meeting sunlight, ventilation, and setbacks requirements, this distinct master plan strategy respects the integrity of the urban interface while expressing its architectural personality.

The facade combines aesthetics with practicality. Horizontal aluminum components are the primary elements, aligning with the building's curves and allowing for the discreet placement of openable windows. A dynamic three-dimensional "twist" of the protruding 1.2m aluminum components mitigates direct sun exposure from the west while ensuring abundant natural light penetration from the south. A cost-effective window wall system is a high-quality alternative to traditional curtain wall systems.
