The Boduo Sengu Business Center is located in Yuhang District, Hangzhou. Four completed L-shaped high-rise office buildings are arranged around a 4,000-square-meter outdoor courtyard in the center. However, the enclosed space, with its relatively square shape, lacks interaction and communication, making it difficult to foster a vibrant commercial atmosphere.

Centered around the park’s theme of "Moriya" (Forest Valley), the design draws inspiration from Hangzhou’s landscapes of mountains, waters, and tea fields. The entire ceiling adopts a lightweight steel structure and membrane structure to replicate the undulating contours of green tea fields, introducing vertical spatial variations and vitality to the indoor space while creating a unique visual effect.

Optimizations have been made in terms of sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental protection. The upper part of the ceiling uses ETFE membrane, which is highly waterproof and self-cleaning, while the lower part employs a grid-like PTFE membrane with sound-absorbing properties. The semi-transparent and transparent membrane structures allow natural light to penetrate, with light and shadows casting dynamic patterns on the ground through the supporting grid framework. Ventilation gaps between the contour-based membrane panels not only meet fire smoke exhaust requirements but also maintain a cool and comfortable environment in the space. The main structure of the canopy combines complex primary and secondary steel structures, with components interweaving, overlapping, colliding, merging, and sharing loads—making this one of the most technically challenging membrane structure projects in the industry over the past decade.

In addition, landscape platforms of varying scales and heights have been added beneath the ceiling space, providing more areas for park users to rest, communicate, and interact. The courtyard features four main entrances open to the city; by utilizing existing vertical staircases, staggered landscape terraces and real-water waterfall installations have been built to fully showcase the project’s uniqueness and the enterprise’s cultural characteristics, forming a unified whole with the courtyard ceiling.
