Recently, GOA’s architectural projects, including Hangzhou Helu Living Hall, Hangzhou Yunqi Taohuayuan Villas, and Tianjin The Spring Blossom, and Wenzhou Fengqi Yuming, were honored with the 2018 Greentown China Awards for excellent architectural planning and design. They respectively received the 2018 Award of Best Living Hall Design, the 2018 Award of Chinese Product Design Innovation, the 2018 Award of North China Product Design, and the 2018 Award of Tall Building Product Design Innovation.

Organized by Greentown China Holdings Limited, the awards program is intended to celebrate and recognize the best architectural designs of the previous year. Nearly 180 entries were submitted for the 2018 Greentown China Awards, and 14 of them were finally selected to be the annual winners. Zhang Yadong, Executive Director and Executive President of Greentown China, and several other senior executives attended the conference and presented the awards.



Winning Entries

Best Living Hall Design: Hangzhou Helu Living Hall

The architectural planning and design of Hangzhou Helu highlights the use of natural resources to improve living quality. The concept is also incorporated into the design of the living hall, which features a thoughtful combination of space with nature, and art with culture. Multiple materials, including metals, stones, and glass, are used to create interesting changes and contrasts.



Chinese Product Design Innovation: Hangzhou Yunqi Taohuayuan Villas

Given that the project is located in the mountainous area of the suburbs, the architects make good use of the site features to perfectly blend three-storey Chinese-styled buildings with the environment. While conforming to traditional forms of construction, the architects employ innovative materials and layout types. Through ingenious design of the grey space on the bottom floor and the open terraces on the second and third floors, a unique spatial experience is thus created.



North China Product Design: Tianjin The Spring Blossom

The project consists of courtyard villas and garden villas. Courtyard villas adopt a traditional Jiangnan garden style, while garden villas are in the architectural style of the period of the Republic of China. In addition to the use of traditional Chinese elements, the design of the façade features innovation and optimization in accordance with modern aesthetics and lifestyle needs. Besides, based on the local climatic features in Tianjin, the details of the façade are adjusted to allow for greater comfort.



High Building Product Design Innovation: Wenzhou Fengqi Yuming

The project is intended to create premium waterside residential buildings in downtown Wenzhou. Through a series of ingenious designs such as skyscrapers, external public interfaces, and waterside paths and greenbelts, the advantages of the site are best exploited, thus solving conflicts arising from the upgrading process of the city center.
