In its “Vibrant Community” strategy, GOA identifies nature, art, history, and social interaction as four essential dimensions of a thriving community. The value of art and culture lies not in the accumulation of decorative symbols, but in a coherent design language and aesthetic sensibility that extend from the overall composition to the finest details, creating a place of cultural identity and belonging. LONVE Eternal Palace embodies this approach.

The design reorganizes the site through two distinct elevation strategies. The courtyard residences are raised approximately four meters above ground level, providing enhanced views and privacy, while the residential towers are elevated on an eight-meter-high podium, accommodating retail and clubhouse facilities below, while maintaining separate circulation routes for the two residential zones. Along the 180-meter urban frontage on Shudu Avenue, the open ground level and projecting canopy give part of the site back to the city, allowing the linear streetscape to expand inward into a series of small urban plazas with varying degrees of enclosure. The main entrance, conceived as an “Embroidered Treasure Box,” together with the retail street, establishes a permeable urban edge that integrates the development into the historic fabric of Chengdu.

The façade design draws inspiration from Shu embroidery, a traditional craft recognized as part of China’s intangible cultural heritage. The interwoven warp and weft of embroidery are reinterpreted through slender horizontal projecting eaves and vertically staggered glass fins. Custom metal detailing along the undersides of the eaves creates a delicate, thread-like texture. Transparent glazing and silver-toned metal lend the towers a contemporary, technology-inspired expression, while expansive glass surfaces reflect the greenery of Tazishan Park. Thin metal projections articulate the floor levels and visually soften the towers’ presence along the major urban thoroughfare. At the building corners, straight façade elements transition seamlessly into curved profiles, demonstrating a high level of precision in fabrication and detailing. After dark, the illuminated tower crowns become urban beacons, with glass fins of varying transparency emitting a constellation of soft light as the building volumes recede into the night.

The courtyard residences extend the concept of “a garden for every home” into “a garden on every level.” From the basement to the rooftop, each floor features a garden directly connected to the interior, enhancing natural daylight throughout the residences. These vertically interconnected gardens establish visual connections between courtyards, with all functional spaces organized around a three-dimensional garden system.

From drawings to built reality, LONVE Eternal Palace translates architectural concepts into tangible spatial experiences. Residential design is not simply about creating individual buildings, but about contributing a piece to the larger urban fabric. Each piece must fit into the whole through a coherent design logic and a considered relationship with its surroundings, allowing the city to become more vibrant. The completion of the project marks not only the realization of an architectural vision, but also the beginning of its integration into the everyday life of Chengdu.
