Located in the core zone of Xiaoshan North Unit, Binjiang Metahaven adopts an axially symmetric master plan with a stepped, terraced layout featuring high-rise towers on the north and stacked villas on the south. Enclosed between the two sectors is an expansive central garden spanning nearly 10,000 square meters. Blending classical formal aesthetics with a multi-layered ecological landscape, the design empowers modern residential space, allowing residents to dwell peacefully and breathe freely within the urban fabric.

To mitigate acoustic and visual disturbances from the primary arterial road along the north, the design responds to Hangzhou's elevated podium ("plate-lifting") policy by raising the base of the northern high-rise towers by approximately 5.1 meters. This intervention creates a three-dimensional acoustic barrier crowned with a continuous landscape green island. The homecoming procession flows progressively from beneath the platform to its upper levels, guiding the pedestrian experience through a meditative transition from public to private, and from urban noise to serene quietude.

Situated within a key planning district, the site fronts a grand urban interface. Serving as the origin of the community's axial sequence, the main entrance defines a semi-enclosed arrival court using a large-span cantilevered canopy paired with horizontally extending stone walls. Minimalist, refined metal accents complement the Peacock Jade stone, forging a dignified architectural presence that resonates with the city's identity. Simultaneously, to activate the streetscape, the design team meticulously planned ground-floor retail along the perimeter, seamlessly merging urban vitality with residential community life.

The building facade translates classical formal order through a modern curtain wall system. Interlocking horizontal and vertical profiles form a rhythmic grid texture, while continuous vertical lines impart a soaring, elegant stature to the massing. A sophisticated material palette combines warm-brown metal, cream-gold stone-textured aluminum panels, and high-transparency glass, anchored by a tactile, refined stone base at the ground level—achieving a contemporary expression of classical aesthetics.

The landscape architecture uses clear structural axes as its spine, leveraging the elevated podium to enrich the vertical spatial hierarchy into a multi-tiered "one core, multiple gardens" landscape network. The primary landscape axis—stretching from the western main entrance through the Forest Island Courtyard to the grand central garden—opens up visual corridors across the community and connects garden clusters at varying elevations. A continuous network of covered walkways and architectural loggias winds through the site, ensuring that every step unfolds into garden views and every vista embraces lush greenery.
